For certain types of animals such as rabbits, Guinea pigs or chinchillas, it can be used along with wood shavings litter, by placing them in separate parts of the tray or cage, or by spreading out a first layer of corn cob granulates litter on the bottom of the tray and a second layer of wood shavings on top of it.

In this way a double absorbing power will be obtained, avoiding the slightly abrasive effect of the granules. Chinchillas and degus use this litter for the so-called dry-bath.
